Washington, 2008

SWP Environmental Services was retained to provide resource analysis for compliance with NEPA requirements for an electrical utility project which include installing a primary electrical cable in conduit for approximately 6.2 miles in the Olympic National Forest.  The original power cable was irreparably damaged during the December 2007 storm and had provided power to a critical communications facility located on Neilton Point.  SWP was also responsible for developing and conducting crew environmental training, designing and installing erosion and sediment controls during construction, monitoring their effectiveness, inspecting and replacing the controls, and ensuring that crews were working in compliance with all permits and US Forest Service requirements for the project.  Construction began in January, 2008 and was completed in April.
