Projects

Washington, 2010-2012

SWP was retained by Puget Sound Energy (PSE) to provide QA/QC and Construction management services on this 342.7MW Windfarm in Southeast Washington. The project includes 149 turbines, 35 miles of access roads, two substations, a 34.5kV U/G collection system with 70 miles of wire and approximately 8 miles of 230kV Transmission line. During peak construction on the project SWP had five employees onsite, including two interns from Washington State University. Since 2010 SWP's Construction Manager(s) have been onsite monitoring stormwater runoff and BMP effectiveness and compliance with the TESC plans; along with inspecting equipment for leaks and reporting spills. SWP’s onsite Construction Manager(s) also oversee compliance with the project specifications, overseeing daily civil construction activities for safety, production levels and quality control. This includes work related to foundation pours, road construction work, trenching, and cable splicing system install. The Construction Manager(s) also monitor road and trench excavation depths, backfill placements, lift depths, compaction, witness testing for sub-grade, and final compaction. General work flow oversight and schedule conflicts along with interfacing with local landowners and community leaders was also the responsibility of the Construction Manager.
